I often wondered in my early years what the word Yoga actually meant until I studied a course of Sanskrit language in my school.


In fact Yoga is a Sanskrit word that literally translates to addition. Hence Yoga stands for joining together through adding. That is how, by addition, the discipline of Yoga aims at combining the body, the mind and the soul into one single whole in which there are no contradictions left at any level, be it separately in between them or else in the conflicting fragments of each one of them individually.


Yoga got formulated as early as around 600 BC, but it took another one thousand years to be established as a full-fledged discipline with the coming of Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.


Pilates is a form of mindfulness. It is a workout that works on alignment of the body and core strengthening. It also helps you raise your awareness of the different body parts and muscle groups in your body.
